AREAS OF EXPERTISE:

Greenstein specializes in the planning and execution of sediment and water bioassays using marine and freshwater species. He is in charge of the day-to-day operations of SCCWRP's Toxicology laboratory. Greenstein has over 30 years of experience working in the Toxicology laboratory. During that time, he has been involved in the development of water and sediment bioassays that are used throughout the western United States. He has worked on numerous projects studying the effects of contaminants on both fish and invertebrates. In addition, he performs statistical analysis of data produced by the toxicology department and has writes reports and publications. Currently, his work focuses on the use and enhancement of sediment toxicity identification evaluations. In addition to his duties in Toxicology Department, Darrin also serves as the Laboratory Coordinator for SCCWRP. His responsibilities include sample tracking and distribution for multiple projects and maintaining safe practices within all SCCWRP laboratories.
