Dr. Peter Miller

Peter E. Miller is a biologist with interests in phytoplankton ecology, harmful algal blooms, development of molecular genetic methods for species detection, traditional morphology-based taxonomy, and technology transfer of traditional and modern methods to end users and coastal managers. He received his Bachelors degree in Biology (1989) and Ph.D. in Biology (1999) both from the University of California, Santa Cruz. His research at SCCWRP focuses on the biosciences, and specifically the use of molecular methods in environmental monitoring.
