Dr. Nikolay Nezlin

Nikolay P. Nezlin is an oceanographer who specializes in statistical analysis of oceanographic and remotely sensed data. He received his B.A. in zoology from Moscow State University in 1977, M.S. in oceanography in 1981, and Ph.D. in biological oceanography in 1983, both from P.P. Shirshov Institute of Oceanology in Moscow, Russia. Dr. Nezlin joined SCCWRP in 2002. He is a specialist in oceanography, statistical methods, computer programming, processing, analysis and visualization of oceanographic data. His present research efforts focus on the analysis of the data collected during by California Cooperative Oceanic Fisheries Investigations program and regular water quality monitoring around Publicly Owned Treatment Works (POTW) wastewater outfalls, including detection the impact of effluent plumes, accuracy of pH measurements and interannual trends in ocean acidification and the depth of subsurface chlorophyll maximum layer.
