Dr. Doris Vidal-Dorsch
Doctor Vidal-Dorsch received an undergraduate engineering degree from the “Instituto Tecnológico del Mar” in Mexico and a doctorate degree in Integrative Biology from the University of California at Berkeley. Her experience includes aquatic toxicology and field biology. Previous research involved laboratory studies of heavy metal effects on resistance and adaptation of freshwater invertebrates and the use of wetlands for bioremediation. As a member of the Toxicology Department at SCCWRP, she specializes in studies to understand the relationship between sediment contamination and biological effects. Her current research includes studies of contaminant bioavailability, and the assessment of biochemical and molecular responses to environmental contaminants such as endocrine disruptors and other contaminants of emerging concern in wild fish populations.
