
Dr. Barnett has 40 years of professional consulting experience in the field of aquatic environmental science. As an expert in aquatic ecology, he has been actively involved in the design of monitoring programs in southern California for more than 25 years. He designed and managed several special research studies for Orange County Sanitation District (OCSD). In particular, he was the Principal Investigator for plume tracking studies that used innovative methods to measure plume indicators and visually demonstrate the extents of the wastewater plume. Additionally, he designed a rapid response study to the initial problems of beach closures in Huntington Beach. The study focused on water transport and statistical analyses of potential factors contributing to high bacterial observations on local beaches.
