
Donna Ferguson is a microbiologist specializing in infectious diseases, water quality, and epidemiology. She received her B.S. in Microbiology from California State University Long Beach and her M.S. in Epidemiology from UCLA. Donna joined SCCWRP in February 2007. Her background includes research related to detection/infectivity methods for Cryptosporidia, Giardia and Microsporidia species in water; microbial source investigative studies and development of an in situ hybridization method for Cryptosporidium in drinking water; and characterization of Enterococcus species and strains using various phenotypic and genotypic typing methods.
