Dr. Meng is an aquatic environmental scientist, specializing in environmental analytical chemistry, human exposure assessment and pollutant removal methods. He received his Ph.D. in Environmental Science from the Guangzhou Institute of Geochemistry, Chinese Academy of Sciences, in 2007; his M.S. in Environmental Engineering from Huazhong University of Science and Technology in 2004; and his B.S. in Environmental Monitoring from Henan Normal University in 2000. His current research interests include investigation of PBDEs in marine mammals and application of stable carbon isotopic analysis for tracking sources and biotransformation pathways of PBDEs. Dr. Meng will be acting as a Post-doctoral Research Associate for SCCWRP, in association with California State University Fullerton, for the 2007-2008 Research Year.
