Valerie Raco-Rands is a marine biologist specializing in regional monitoring. She graduated with a degree in marine biology from California State University at Long Beach in 1982. She joined SCCWRP in July 1979. Her present research focus is summarizing effluent quality and estimating mass emissions of municipal wastewater facilities and power generating stations in the Southern California Bight.
