Scott Martindale is SCCWRP’s communications coordinator. He is responsible for developing, executing and advancing an agency communications strategy that brings clarity and understanding to SCCWRP's role in the aquatic sciences. He specializes in translating complex technical information from varied sources into accessible, engaging prose tailored to specific audiences. He is skilled at building awareness and understanding through a variety of written and visual communication mediums, and at maximizing impact through synergistic collaborations. He plans, executes and oversees a variety of translational and scientific synthesis publications, including the Director's Report, the Annual Report and the Research Plan.
He received his B.S. in biology in 2004 and M.A. in journalism in 2006, both from the University of Southern California. Martindale joined SCCWRP in 2014 after an eight-year career as a newspaper journalist.
