Dr. Victoria McGruer

Senior Research Technician
Toxicology

Dr. Tori McGruer is a Senior Research Technician in the Toxicology Department where she is currently leading projects studying contaminants of emerging concern and conducting risk assessment. Her research focuses on understanding how pollutants such as estrogen-disrupting compounds and polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons impact aquatic ecosystems. She uses molecular techniques including in vitro bioassays, lipidomics, qPCR, and immunohistochemistry to understand and describe these impacts.

She received a Ph.D. in environmental toxicology from the University of California, Riverside, and a B.S. in environmental science and biology from Northeastern University. She joined SCCWRP in 2023.
