Biogeochemistry

Dr. Alle Lie is a Senior Research Technician in the Biogeochemistry Department who specializes in planktonic protistan ecology. Her Ph.D. thesis focused on using molecular methods for studying protistan diversity and ecology. Before joining SCCWRP, she was a project manager at an environmental consulting company where she developed an interest in harmful algal blooms mitigation. She received her B.S. and M.Phil. in biology from the Chinese University of Hong Kong in 2006 and 2008, respectively, and she received her Ph.D. in biology from the University of Southern California in 2017. She joined SCCWRP in 2022.
